NHS Professional Registration & Qualification Check Policy – Non-Clinical Recruiters
Conducting a professional registration check is a mandatory requirement for non-recruitment agencies when placing workers into roles where a professional registration is a mandatory criterion. Essential qualifications must also be checked for non-clinical roles as required within the job specification
This documented process details the steps required for recruitment agencies to ensure:
- That the individual is actively registered to carry out the proposed role with the relevant professional or regulatory body.
- That there are no restrictions on their registration that may affect the duties proposed.
- That the individual is fit to practice and is not being / has not been investigated by the professional or regulatory body.
The policy also provides the process for validating qualifications for workers where they have not been checked by the relevant professional or regulatory body as part of their registration.
This documented process is fully compliant with NHS Employers Check Standards.
