The Contracting Authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are Small or Medium Enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
Background:
71 Commonwealth nations and territories are expected to participate in the XXII Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, which will take place from 27.7.2022 to 7.8.2022.
Events will be held in venues across Birmingham and the West Midlands, with the track cycling due to take place at the Lee Valley VeloPark in London.
The games will bring together 6,500 athletes and officials in one of the youngest cities in Europe and will feature the commonwealth’s best athletes, going for gold in a showcase of 17 different sports over 11 days of competition. They are expected to be watched by 1,000 000 ticketed spectators and the action will be broadcast to an estimated television audience of 1,500,000,000.
A landmark event in the history of Birmingham, the games will accelerate new housing and transport projects, create jobs and apprenticeships and deliver trade and investment opportunities. The biggest sporting and cultural event ever to be held in the West Midlands region, the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will bring people together to take part in a unique festival of sport, culture and business, making a world of difference for everyone in the city, in every community across the West Midlands and throughout the Commonwealth and beyond.
Recruitment Services Tender Procurement:
OC is procuring the contract using the competitive dialogue procedure pursuant to the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. OC is mindful of the resource such engagement can involve for both tenderers and OC itself and accordingly OC has designed a streamlined competitive dialogue process.
A Selection Questionnaire (SQ) will be issued to all interested potential providers along with a Descriptive Document (DD), draft contract; and draft sponsorship agreement. These will detail the high-level scope of the procurement, the rules of engagement for the Competitive Dialogue, the SQ and Invitation to Submit a Final Tender (ISFT) evaluation methodologies, the timetable, and other supporting information that is considered necessary.
