Overseas Nurses Recruitment – NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership

Recruitment of Overseas Nurses  Tender

Description of the procurement:  The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who are seeking to establish a Framework for the Recruitment of Overseas Nurses.  The Health Board is one of the largest integrated healthcare providers in the UK.  It provides day-to-day health services to a population of around half a million people living in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan who need emergency and scheduled hospital treatment and mental health care, as well as delivering care in people’s own homes and community clinics. It is also responsible for the delivery of NHS primary care services, including general practitioners, community pharmacists, dentists and optometrists.  Staffing remains the most important factor in the delivery of high quality care as ensuring that there are sufficient numbers of nursing staff with the right skills and competencies to deliver high quality of care is a minimum requirement expected to be delivered by healthcare providers.  Recruitment and retention are important issues for the Health Board and recruiting the correct number and caliber of staff is essential to help deliver the best possible care to patients.

Duration of the framework agreement: 12 months  with the option to extend for a further 2 years in annual intervals

The procurement involves the establishment of a framework agreement with several operators.  Envisaged maximum number of participants to the framework agreement: 6

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate:  4pm, 1st March 2017

Estimated total value:  £450,000
