Training – Statutory & Mandatory Training Procedure – Non-Medical/Non-Clinical Staff (NHS)

This Statutory and Mandatory Training Check Procedure is designed for non-medical, non-clinical agency workers within the NHS.

It ensures that workers complete the requisite NHS training prior to starting a job or assignment.  NHS training has to be compliant with the Skills for Health Statutory and Mandatory and Clinical/Care Core Skills Training.  Contractors and temporary workers must complete it prior to assignment and thereafter be given refresher training in alignment with the CSTF recommended refresher period.  The procedure includes details of:

• Checking training certificates
• Statutory and mandatory subjects, levels and refresher periods.
• Clinical care subjects, levels and refresher periods.
• Other training.
• Pre-assignment checklist.
• Scheduling training.
• Audits.
